Ethiopia Waives Visa Fees for Africa Climate Summit Participants

In a powerful demonstration of its commitment to climate action and pan-African collaboration, the Government of Ethiopia has announced a significant visa fee waiver for all registered attendees of the upcoming Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2). This move, aimed at making travel to the summit easier and more accessible, is a major win for climate advocates and delegates across the continent and beyond.

The "good news for all ACS2 participants" means that the standard $52 visa fee has been completely waived. Instead of the usual process, registered attendees can now get their visa on arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, simply by presenting their official registration acknowledgment letter. This eliminates the need for a separate e-visa application, streamlining travel and allowing participants to focus on the summit's critical agenda.

The Second Africa Climate Summit, hosted by the Government of Ethiopia and the African Union Commission, will take place from September 8 to 10, 2025, in Addis Ababa. The event is a pivotal moment for African leaders to shape a common stance on climate change ahead of major global conferences.

In addition to the visa waiver, Ethiopian Airlines is offering discounted flights to participants. This comprehensive effort to facilitate travel underscores the host country's dedication to ensuring a wide and diverse range of voices can contribute to the summit's success.

This generous gesture from Ethiopia sends a clear message: the time for collaboration is now, and every voice matters in the fight against climate change.
