"Stop the War!": Hundreds of Thousands Rally in Tel Aviv for Hostage Deal
In one of the largest public demonstrations seen in Israel since last October, hundreds of thousands of protestors flooded the streets of Tel Aviv with an urgent and unified message: end the war in Gaza and bring the hostage's home.
The massive rally, held in the city's "Hostages Square," was a powerful display of public pressure on the government. Organized by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, demonstrators voiced grave concerns that the ongoing military offensive is directly endangering the lives of the remaining captives. The protest was sparked by the government's recent approval of a new military campaign a move protestors fear will sabotage any chance of a peaceful resolution.
Chants of “Bring them all home now! Stop the war!” echoed through the crowd. Many expressed their frustration with the government's strategy, with some protestors stating, "The Israeli government has turned a just war into a meaningless war."
The demonstration drew a sharp rebuke from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He criticized the rally, claiming that it "only hardens Hamas's position and delays the process of releasing the hostages," highlighting a growing divide between the nation's leadership and a significant segment of its people.
